Patrick Okoi
Hi, I'm Patrick Okoi, a content writer with a deep love for words that heal, teach, and uplift.
I come from a public health background, holding a Master of Science in Public Health from Ebonyi State University and a bachelor’s degree from Federal University, Lafia. Over the years, I’ve written extensively about wellness, self-care, and emotional wellbeing, from scientific articles to poetic essays that sit at the crossroads of soul and science.
My writing journey has taken me from digital health platforms in Germany to diaspora-centered wellness publications in Canada. Along the way, I've published over 500 articles touching on everything from nutrition and mental health to relationships and identity. Whether breaking down the science behind trauma responses or crafting comforting copy around anxiety and depression, I try to write with both precision and compassion, two things I believe everyone deserves when navigating their mental health.
Outside of writing, I’m an Ugep native who finds joy in chess, quiet dancing, and books that stretch the soul. I’m especially drawn to conversations around holistic healing, intergenerational trauma, and how therapy can gently unearth the things we hide even from ourselves.
My hope is to contribute stories and insights that echo the heart of ‘The Room - Psy’: brave, informed, nurturing. I want to support the mission of normalizing therapy, making space for marginalized voices, and creating content that feels like a hand to hold, especially for those who are just beginning their healing journey.
Let’s open doors with language. Let’s write the room.
